Stylish, Easy to Use, Reasonably Priced

The EatSmart Precision Pro is quite a value for the money. I had shopped a bit before and settled on a little cheapie but when I saw this, it appeared to have all the features I needed. For $8 more than I paid for my first jinky scale, I now have everything I need.

It is very simple to use, instructions are barely needed. You can choose either grams, kilograms, ounces or pounds with the touch of a button. Tare weight is oh so easy to set, easy off and on. You can also weigh food, tare it to zero, add another food etc, so you can easily weigh multiple ingredients.

The unit is compact and light, easy to place on the counter when preparing foods and then tuck away in a cupboard, for storage so it's not taking up counter space.

This also came with a 'Calorie Factor Booklet' that lets you easily figure the calorie count of non-packaged foods... fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, grains, nuts, etc. This is an angle I'd not yet seen - weigh the food, multiply the weight in grams by the calorie factor listed for that food, and you have the calories for that portion size. I love this.

This is a great value for someone who is watching their calories or other nutritional factors for health reasons - calculating fat content, carbs, whatever.

It was either the EatSmart scale or the Escali brand scale. Based on the amount of poor reviews the latter was getting, I opted for the EatSmart. So far (about a week), I have no complaints. I use it 1-3 times per day and have had zero problems. When I initially received the scale, I tested it out for accuracy and it certainly is accurate. Sure, it's made out of cheap plastic, but it gets the job done. Plus, the 'tare' feature is extremely useful.

By the way, I didn't get the scale for weight loss reasons. I'm a weight lifter and when you eat 5-7 meals a day this can definitely take the guess work out of figuring out how many ounces of meat, veggies, etc you're consuming. Owning one of these won't classify you as a health freak...so if you're thinking about it, pull the trigger and buy one already.

Overall, I recommend the product. If it were made out of higher quality material, I'd rate it 5/5...but 4/5 seems justified in my opinion!

I ordered this scale based on all the positive reviews it had received at Amazon. I am not sure how very useful this scale is. The stainless steel circular plate on which one would place the item to be weighed is less than 5" in diameter. A medium size cabbage easily rolls off of it. If you use a bowl or a larger plate on top, the metal plate pretty much hides the scale and you will have to bend low with a flash light to read the scale. Most other similar scales have a bigger sized weighing plate. Had the circular plate been of glass, one could still read the scale but the metal hinders that. I returned the scale the next day and got a reasonable size digital scale locally from a well known retailer at a much cheaper prize.

The EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale is my first digital scale and I love it. It is so easy to use and so far has been very accurate. You just push the unit button on top to switch between the four different units of weights, which I didn't realize I would use so often. Also, the Tare feature is fantastic. You just put your bowl on the scale, hit the Tare button, the weight goes back to zero, and you then put "whatever" into the bowl. The numbers are large and very easy to read and see with a large bowl on it. It only uses 2 AAA batteries which is also a definite plus. As I said this is my first digital scale and I am very pleased and excited with it. The size of it (8 1/4" x 5 3/4" x 1 1/2") makes it easy to store. This is a great product and I recommend it to all!

We have enjoyed using the EatSmart kitchen scale to help with holiday baking. Many of our recipes are scaled down versions from my grandfather's bakery--as you know the pros do everything by weight!--and the scale makes it a snap to parse out the correct amount of ingredients. It's also been a great lesson to show the kids that volume and weight are totally different things. They also like using the Tare function and then watching the numbers go up as we add more to the bowl. The numbers are easy to read and the scale wipes clean in a jiffy (soooo many little floury fingerprints!) We haven't had to replace batteries yet, but I'm happy that they are AAAs and not some crazy disk battery that I have to search for high and low.

i have used eat smart precison scale for the last 6mos (recently i switched to this scale)i was using another commercial brand.the people at eatsmart were very instructive an dencouraging for me to trust this product.this is my 2nd scale i just purchased from their brand(i bought the black /chrome)i use it as a backup i still use my white one from eatsmart and just changed the batteries last nite!precise to the letter it is dependable reliable and i love the fact i can take it to restaurants(i weigh and measure all foods everywhere)it is an excellent aid in assisting me with accuracy as well.thank you for this little scale and I believe the positive feedack about this scale is what helped me "turn my head towards it",thus allowing me to make a positive purchase for my health!


My husband and I have been counting calories for almost 3 months. We found it hard to figure calories for some of the meals we prepared, so we decided to buy a digital food scale.
After researching Amazon, we chose this scale and we are not sorry that we did. It is accurate, easy to use and very reliable. It also came with a book that helps you figure out calories in food items. I highly recommend this product for anyone in need of a food scale.
