First of all, I'm a born skeptic. I don't take anyone's word for anything until I've tried it first. But I gotta tell ya, this little tabletop oven does EXACTLY what it promises to do, in spades. In short... I LOVE THIS OVEN!!! It's a gem, a real "must have." I didn't even use the kitchen to cook my first complete meal in. I just placed it on my coffee table, and watched TV as it cooked my entire dinner as I watched it bubble and brown right before my eyes. It was kind of cool seeing the whole process unfold right there in my living room.
After I'd spent all day researching similar convection ovens, I noticed that they all have major issues, particularly the ones hawked on TV. Mainly, they were extremely cheaply made compared with this unit. The fact that this model had a heavy glass top that lifted easily without having to place it on a table or on a special lid holder was a big "plus." The quality looks fantastic, but let's see if it holds up well over time. If it does, I have definitely found cooking Nirvana, and for a lazy bachelor to get such incredible results with this oven the very first time at bat, well, let's just say that I'm feeling like Superman. Emeril step aside, you're looking at the artiste of roasting a whole roast chicken. BAM!!! It was so easy that I felt like a culinary genius. The chicken came out exactly right -- perfectly browned on top, the meat perfectly cooked and tender -- and to realize that this was my VERY FIRST TIME OUT, something of a small miracle. I just can't say enough about this Secura oven! Spraying the inside of the bowl with some Pam cooking spray prior to cooking more messy items is also a great idea, guaranteed to make your clean up a breeze (I used it when cooking some hamburger patties. All I had to do was wipe the bowl clean with some paper towels).
I exactly followed the superb roast chicken recipe supplied by Chef Kevin Stanton I found on page one of these reviews, but I'd like to add a few personal "improvements" of my own that I hope everyone will like.

Review Update: The vendor was willing to work with me on this one. Therefore, I am raising the rating from one star to three stars. I did perform some additional testing. I really tried several options to get it to work properly. These included cooking with no food and setting the temperature lower. I found that it operates normally without food at any temperature setting. I also found that after about 45 minutes of cooking, the food the lamp will stay on and no longer cycle burning the food. I tried setting the unit to 350 degrees. After about 45 minutes with two average size potatoes, the lamp will stay on without the fan and burn the surface of the potatoes. Even after the timer ends and the unit should shut off, the lamp will remain on with the fan off. I am a bit concerned that this could result in a fire hazard. Early on, I experimented with cleaning the unit with water in the bottom. In general, I believe that in this case steam (and not temperature) is the culprit. I would like to try another unit of the same model because I purchased all of the accessories. Of course, this time I will keep the temperature setting at or below 450 degrees and avoid cleaning the unit by adding water. I plan to limit cleaning to the dishwasher for the bowl and accessories and wiping the unit down with slightly damp cloth after it is completely cool. I also recommend that a card be included in the box for other customers recommending updated cleaning instructions that will hopefully reduce the risk of failure.

I read some good reviews here on Amazon and bought this convection oven. This is our second convection oven, the 1st one looks more like an ordinary toaster oven with a convection fan on one side. The food facing the fan side always cooked crispier than the other side. But this "popular side" had very limited quantity. I was thinking they should design a new convection oven with a rotating base, so all 4 sides will face the fan in turn. Well maybe an appliance like this is already available, but not that I have heard of. The idea of having the convection fan on top of the food is brilliant or I should say the right thing to do. Unfortunately most other convection oven just put the convection fan at a place easy to install. Aerodynamics or fluid dynamics is definitely critical factor to consider. Well apparently the design of this convection oven makes a lot of sense. The cooking results I would say absolutely as expected. All the surface facing up now are crispier than my old convection oven does. It takes similar time to cook small items but with better results. As for bigger item, like a whole chicken, my old convection can not handle it because of the space issue. Occasionally we can squeeze in a smaller size chicken, but it never fully cooked before the outside got burned. But this secura oven can cook a whole chicken, we have not tried whole turkey yet though. Make sure to use extender ring, even you can put the chicken in without an extender ring. Cook anything big with an extendering.
Cleaning is indeed easier. We can wipe the glass bowl as we did with our old toaster oven. The glass bowl has a bigger opening and the opening is on the top, while the old toaster oven is not that easy to reach the corners. And you can do a complete cleaning of the secura oven, bringing to sink and rinse it inside and out. But can not do this with my old toaster oven. I read some reviews complaining about the oven hard to clean. It's like complaining your F-150 takes longer to unload simply because it has a larger cargo capacity than your Focus.

This is the best and the most used cooking appliance so far. We love the design and quality of this Turbo Oven. It blows hot air right from above, making the surface perfect and crispy, just can not imagine a better way to cook a fresh and crispy low fat meal, or just a snack.. The glass bowl is easy to clean just by dry wiping. And if you have to, you can remove the glass bowl to do a deep clean. Most other ovens, you need to reach inside to clean the interior. So cleaning is much much easier for this Secura Oven.
When we ordered this, we did not think too much, it just a countertop oven to replace our old one. To our pleasant surprise, it arrived well packed as seen from those high end appliances (this is a high-end oven) and came with beautiful gift packaging. Can not wait to order one for my parents.

I wanted to write up a review on this new 'camo' Otterbox Defender case. I've been a longtime user of the all black Otterbox Defender case for the iPhone 4 (not the 4S). That first all black case was a very good case, but it did have its faults. Mainly, the rubber or silicone was too "tacky" and would grab my pockets when I was trying to take my phone out. And the rubber on the all black case was too "soft" and I found myself having to always be pushing it back into the slots, etc.

Well, Otterbox has definitely improved on this! I'm not sure if it is just these 'camo' cases or if they have done this for the rest of the line, but the silicone is MUCH more durable now. Not near as tacky feeling and it is definitely staying in the grooves better. Also, the camo pattern is actually molded into the case, and it has no tacky feel at all, very smooth.

Again, this review won't mean much if you have never owned or seen one of the Defender cases, I just wanted to throw this out there for people who were having the same issues as me, with the silicone being tacky and popping out of the grooves.

Protecting a $200 phone is quite a formidable task and a lot of cell phone case companies do not seem to understand protection. They strive for style, design, and aesthetics. To me, this is all nonsense. Otterbox understands the principle of protection better than any other company making these types of products. Fuction is what I am looking for and and this company produces fuctioning cell phone cases. These 4S generation cases share an improved design, mainly with the camera area. I think people were complaining about shadowed pictures and video due to the tight camera cut out. They widened it to ensure the new 8MP camera with not be hindered by a design flaw.

First, the defender technically provides more protection than the commuter and also comes with a handy holster with a clip. However, the defender is bulky and the port covers do not stay as well as the model for the 3GS. Also, I am not a fan of the defender because of the screen protector it comes with. Eventually, particles of dust or grit will work their way into your case and be sandwiched between the screen and the hard plastic film. Then, friction from your finger will scratch the screen up pretty bad (this happened to me). To make matters worse, I put a Zagg shield on it and it basically fused with the screen protector on the defender. I needed to pry the phone off the case and, while doing so, lifted the glass of the phone, creating permanant air pockets in my screen. Not a good scenario at all. The anti-glar films sold at the apple store, however, work fine because they have a smoother, less sticky surface. I would not reccomend this case at all, though, without these screen protectors because without a screen protector, air bubbles will form and distort your view and scratches on the screen will occur. But, if you work construction or another potentially hazardous job, this case with the anti-glare screen protectors may be a better choice then the Commuter series of cases.

I agree with the other reviewers: The case is really nice. It's comfortable, durable, but I'm disappointed having paid so much more for it for the color because it doesn't look like the picture. It's a lot lighter which shows a lot of contrast between the black of the phone and the case. If you had a white phone, I think it would look really cool, but with a black phone it doesn't look as good as the picture shows.

In addition to what I explained in the comments section, after having tried the white phone with this case and posting the photos; I'm noticing that the manufacturer's picture is not a true representation of what the face looks like on any of these cases. Keep in mind when buying any of them that the color of the phone will show as a border around the screen. IOW, the picture shows the color of the case going all the way to the screen. But it doesn't.

Item was a fake. My wife has a legit Otterbox defender and the logos did not match. Silicone on the original is more firm and fits snuggly on the iphone. The holster for the fake does not hold the phone well. It easily unclips if you bump it. The real holster is secure and the iphone will not dislodge accidentally. All the flaps on the fake version are poorly constructed and do not close well if at all. The real Otterbox flaps fit tightly and stay closed. Amazon should be ashamed of themselves to allow these knock offs to be sold here. Purchase at your own risk. I will definitely be taking my business else where from now on.

This is the best case I could find after a week of research. Once you put your iPhone 4s inside you KNOW it's perfectly safe.

First set up takes about 5 minutes. After you figure it out it only takes 30 seconds to disassemble or reassemble.

With previous cases I've owned dust, sand, and other things get into the phone through all the openings. This case deals with it in the perfect way: It leaves the microphone, speaker, noise cancellation port, cameras, and flash unaffected while putting an easy to lift rubber cover over the Charger port, headphone port, silence switch, volume buttons, and sleep button. The flash works well with this case so far while many cases are too close and ruin photos with a flash.

It even has a built in protective cover for the screen. 

I thought I was buying the Otterbox defender series hybrid case & holster for my iphone 4s. Man....I was wrong. First of all the case came without a holster and it wasn't the real Otterbox. The seller "Michelle's Home Treasurer" should be banned from Amazon or any other online site. This is the reason I rarely buy things online. You don't know what you get until it's actually delivered.

I know there are real professionals out there that do the right thing for their customers, but unfortunately bad sellers like Michelle's Home Treasurer makes it harder to run a legitimate business.

I'm never buying from them again!

Stylish, Easy to Use, Reasonably Priced

The EatSmart Precision Pro is quite a value for the money. I had shopped a bit before and settled on a little cheapie but when I saw this, it appeared to have all the features I needed. For $8 more than I paid for my first jinky scale, I now have everything I need.

It is very simple to use, instructions are barely needed. You can choose either grams, kilograms, ounces or pounds with the touch of a button. Tare weight is oh so easy to set, easy off and on. You can also weigh food, tare it to zero, add another food etc, so you can easily weigh multiple ingredients.

The unit is compact and light, easy to place on the counter when preparing foods and then tuck away in a cupboard, for storage so it's not taking up counter space.

This also came with a 'Calorie Factor Booklet' that lets you easily figure the calorie count of non-packaged foods... fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, grains, nuts, etc. This is an angle I'd not yet seen - weigh the food, multiply the weight in grams by the calorie factor listed for that food, and you have the calories for that portion size. I love this.

This is a great value for someone who is watching their calories or other nutritional factors for health reasons - calculating fat content, carbs, whatever.

It was either the EatSmart scale or the Escali brand scale. Based on the amount of poor reviews the latter was getting, I opted for the EatSmart. So far (about a week), I have no complaints. I use it 1-3 times per day and have had zero problems. When I initially received the scale, I tested it out for accuracy and it certainly is accurate. Sure, it's made out of cheap plastic, but it gets the job done. Plus, the 'tare' feature is extremely useful.

By the way, I didn't get the scale for weight loss reasons. I'm a weight lifter and when you eat 5-7 meals a day this can definitely take the guess work out of figuring out how many ounces of meat, veggies, etc you're consuming. Owning one of these won't classify you as a health freak...so if you're thinking about it, pull the trigger and buy one already.

Overall, I recommend the product. If it were made out of higher quality material, I'd rate it 5/5...but 4/5 seems justified in my opinion!

I ordered this scale based on all the positive reviews it had received at Amazon. I am not sure how very useful this scale is. The stainless steel circular plate on which one would place the item to be weighed is less than 5" in diameter. A medium size cabbage easily rolls off of it. If you use a bowl or a larger plate on top, the metal plate pretty much hides the scale and you will have to bend low with a flash light to read the scale. Most other similar scales have a bigger sized weighing plate. Had the circular plate been of glass, one could still read the scale but the metal hinders that. I returned the scale the next day and got a reasonable size digital scale locally from a well known retailer at a much cheaper prize.

The EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale is my first digital scale and I love it. It is so easy to use and so far has been very accurate. You just push the unit button on top to switch between the four different units of weights, which I didn't realize I would use so often. Also, the Tare feature is fantastic. You just put your bowl on the scale, hit the Tare button, the weight goes back to zero, and you then put "whatever" into the bowl. The numbers are large and very easy to read and see with a large bowl on it. It only uses 2 AAA batteries which is also a definite plus. As I said this is my first digital scale and I am very pleased and excited with it. The size of it (8 1/4" x 5 3/4" x 1 1/2") makes it easy to store. This is a great product and I recommend it to all!

We have enjoyed using the EatSmart kitchen scale to help with holiday baking. Many of our recipes are scaled down versions from my grandfather's bakery--as you know the pros do everything by weight!--and the scale makes it a snap to parse out the correct amount of ingredients. It's also been a great lesson to show the kids that volume and weight are totally different things. They also like using the Tare function and then watching the numbers go up as we add more to the bowl. The numbers are easy to read and the scale wipes clean in a jiffy (soooo many little floury fingerprints!) We haven't had to replace batteries yet, but I'm happy that they are AAAs and not some crazy disk battery that I have to search for high and low.

i have used eat smart precison scale for the last 6mos (recently i switched to this scale)i was using another commercial brand.the people at eatsmart were very instructive an dencouraging for me to trust this product.this is my 2nd scale i just purchased from their brand(i bought the black /chrome)i use it as a backup i still use my white one from eatsmart and just changed the batteries last nite!precise to the letter it is dependable reliable and i love the fact i can take it to restaurants(i weigh and measure all foods everywhere)it is an excellent aid in assisting me with accuracy as well.thank you for this little scale and I believe the positive feedack about this scale is what helped me "turn my head towards it",thus allowing me to make a positive purchase for my health!

1 minor disappointment

 have had this electric kettle (Proctor Silex K2070Y 1 Liter Electric Kettle) for over a year and it really does the job reliably and with very few complaints. It boils pretty quickly and always shuts off as it starts boils and if there is not enough water to boil. I like the detachable cord so filling the kettle is easy without a cord dangling. Bottom line, my experience has been that the kettle is safe, simple and reliable. I take one star off because I am pretty sure it is not BPA free. So, I have patiently been waiting for this one to break down so I can get an electric kettle with a healthier material but this one just keeps working : )

This electric kettle does exactly what it is supposed to, it heats water. It does so pretty quickly. I use this for making a cup of tea or a warm bottle for me baby. I wish it held more water but for it being so cheap, its not a hassle to refill it more often. If you plan to use it a ton, get one that holds more water at a time. I have no issues with this kettle, it works perfect and is fast!

You get what you pay for, and I should have known better. Do not make the same mistake I did by buying this piece of junk that is unworthy even of a dorm room. I bought it so we wouldn't be using our microwave all the time, come to find that: if you start with cold water, it takes about 10 minutes to heat up, all the while making enough noise to raise the dead. An old fashioned tea-kettle on the stove is far better, and doesn't have the same awful taste. Buyer please beware!

I purchased this product a little over a month ago and it's already stopped operating correctly. It will heat for a few seconds, then shut off. It continues this cycle until I just give up and turn it off. The other thing I noticed right away was the plastic smell of the heated water. This did lessen over the month, but was still there. Not a product I'd buy again.
My previous electric kettle was Ovente stainless/cordless which I accidentally broke. It will be a strong contender when I purchase a new one.

is is a pretty good electric kettle for the price. It is on a smaller size which is perfect for when you need to make a cup of tea or to boil an egg.
There is only one thing I don't care for in this kettle design; it has a thick and heavy duty electric cord that is attached to the kettle itself instead of having a 'base' so this cord tags along every time you pick the kettle up.   

I was hesitant to purchase this because of some negative reviews but I'm glad I decided to go ahead and try it! It's just the right size for traveling, the water heats up very quickly and shuts off just after it boils. There was a plasticky smell at first, but it disappeared after I ran it 2-3 times. The only negative is that the cord could be longer and the water is EXTREMELY hot, be careful when you take that first sip!! Good product and I'm happy with it so far!
